New assistant Metropolitan for EAE elected

Fr. Jacob Markose, the present General secretary of Pourastya Suvishesha Samajam (EAE - The Evangelistic Association of the
East), has been elected as the new Asst. Metropolitan of the same. This election was made at the Annual General committee convened at Perumbavoor Samajam Head Office chapel on friday. Of the 125 General
Committee members, 121 members attended and cast their votes. The committee members had come from different parts of Kerala and Karnataka for the said
meeting representing the different parishes and institutions run by Samajam. The general committee passed the resolution to request HH The Patriarch to ordain
Fr. Jacob Markose as the Asst. Metropolitan of Samajam.
Fr. Jacob Markose is a well known orator and convention speaker. He has been
serving as the Genaral secretary of EAE for the last two years. Earlier he has
also served as the Manager of Honavar Mission.
Later in the afternoon the newly constructed ' HG Geevarghese Mor Polycarpose
Shashti Poorthi memorial Auditorium ' was inagurated by HB Baselios Thomas I
catholicose. The public function convened for the same and also to commemorate
the 8th Death anniversary of the founder of EAE Koroso Dashroro V. Rev Athunkal
Geevarghese Cor Episcopa was addressed and blessed by HB Baselios Thomas I Bava
Thirumeni, HG Dr. Severios Abaraham and HG Mor Polycarpose Geevarghese. HG Mor
severios released a book authored by Polycarpose thirumeni on the said
occassion. The meeting started with offering condolences on the sad demise of
Mor Yulios Yeshue Cicek, Metropolitan of Central Europe. The public meeting was
also attended by Saju Paul MLA, Cmdr. P P Thankachan, Perumbavoor Muncipal
Chairperson Smt.Fathima Beevi and Muncipal Councellor Smt. Premkumar.
The auditorium is situated at the Samajam head Office in Perumabvoor on the
Perumbavoor - Munnar road
