What is the Book of Hosea about? How was it composed & in what sense (if any) might it be regarded as True?

If we read swiftly through the chapters of Hosea, we can at once notice that the book is written in a metaphorical and poetical way, which gives the reader encouragement to dig deeper into its true meaning and significance. The very uniqueness, which attracts the scholar’s attention, is how the prophecy is represented in the narrative. Nevertheless, the script has always been challenging for critical scholars to interpret, primarily because the book has a variety of textual problems. The disjointed arrangement of the material can sometimes misinform, and it is also problematical to illustrate whether the narrative is an allegorical or literal event.

St. Athanasious Paulose, popularly known as 'Valiya Thirumeni', is one of the luminous stars of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, who as the head of the Church in India, successfully guided its destiny for nearly four decades. It was his firm faith, persistent efforts and ardent prayers that helped the Malankara Syrian community to maintain their ancient links with the Holy See of Antioch. Because of his strong determination to uphold the traditions and faith of the Holy Church, he is often described in the Church history as 'Sathya Viswasa Samrakshakan' (Defender of True Faith), a title conferred to him by the Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem I.

Hunein Ibn Ishak is known for his contribution to medical science. What is less known is that he was a Christian serving in an Islamic court in Baghdad whose translations would influence a future Roman Pope four hundred years after Hunein's death. Hunein Ibn Ishak was an optholologist who looked into the eye of Greek wisdom and brought forth many treatises of Syriac and Arabic. Hunein translated Aristotle, Plato, Hippolitus, and most importantly the medical literature of Galen.
Rally of the Spiritual Organizations: A Historic Event

The rally of the Spiritual organizations of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church of India became a historic event on October 26th 2008. The Spiritual organizations consisting of Sunday School students, Teachers, Youth Association members and St. Mary’s Women’s league members consisting of a crowd that totaled around 50,000 people participated in a rally during the recent Apostolic visit of the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch to Kerala.

The year-long sacerdotal Golden jubilee celebrations of Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, the regional head of the Syrian Christian Church of India, came to an end with a grand reception given to the Supreme head of the Church, His Holiness Patriarch Ignatius Zakka-I Iwas and His Beatitude the Catholicos at the Marine Drive grounds in Kochi. As many as 100,000 faithful attended the function held to welcome His Holiness the Patriarch on his 4th Apostolic visit to India and to facilitate the Catholicos on his sacerdotal Golden jubilee celebration.
