Verse 28

Verse 28: “Two men under the control of demons went to meet Him, coming out of the tombs, so fierce and savage that no one was able to pass that way”.

Tombs: Usually cut in rocks. It is a belief that demon-possessed soul would reside near tombs and enter people causing trouble. It was also a belief that the power of a demon in places suitable for demon was much more than the power of man. 

“What have You to do with us, Jesus, Son of God? Have You come to torment us before the appointed time” 

The demons knew Jesus as Son of God. During the time of fasting, Satan also uses that name (Matthew 4). But still many people did not understand this and because of this unbelief, they will know that in the ultimate destiny, it is torture for them; for the Lord commands to the people on the left, “'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
