Verse 7:6: “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs.”

The early church specified who should or could be given holy sacraments in general and Holy Qurbana in particular. “The sacraments are given to the holy [NLT: has it ‘don't give what is holy to unholy people’]. “The holy should be given to sacred people” (Holy Qurbana Liturgy). “That Mystery for me and for my family.”

“But let none eat or drink of your Eucharist except those who have been baptized in the Lord's name. For concerning this also did the Lord say, ‘Give not that which is holy to the dogs’ (Apostolic Didache, Chapter 9)

Therthullain: “Perverts of Gospel give Holy Qurbana to all; and thereby gives holy to dogs, that is jewels to pigs.”

What do “Holy”, “Pearls”, “Dogs”, and “Pigs” mean?

Holy: They are sacred always and should remain as such. It should never be made unholy. These are Holy Qurbana and other sacraments.

Pearl: They are the most reverent doctrines of faith and mysteries of faith.

Pigs: Those who insult the truth (true faith).

Dogs: Those who persecute the truth.

St. John Chrisostom: “If holy mysteries and jewels are given to unholy persons, and because they do not know the dignity; they would regard it as material things and will step on it with their worldly steps”

Our Lord says to the disciples, “I have much to say to you. But you cannot grasp it now” (John 16:12, 13).
