Verses 25- 33: Dependence on God

Root cause of all worry is serving wealth and forgetting God.  Our Lord teaches here how to avoid the unnecessary worries. Seek the kingdom of God; depend on Him who can give everything we need.  Look at the birds and trees. They live, not because of their own effort, but because Heavenly Father takes care of them.  Since that is the case, how much more our Father will regard His children?

St. John Chrisostom: “Don’t be withdrawn from the eternal things by worldly things.”

St. Jerome: “We are permitted to work, but what is not permitted is anxiety about future.”

St. John Chrystotom: “God created every creatures for man.  But God created man for Him.  Creation of man is incomparable.  Just like that, God’s consideration for them too is greatest.”

God put in order our growth for each day, without our knowledge.  Don’t you think that God, who works daily on your body, provides for your life too? The Gentiles think their life depends on ‘fate’ and not on God.   They forget that God guides human life.  So they worry about uncertain future.  But one who believes that God leads, submits everything to God and remain unconcerned.  Almighty God knows everything about His faithful, and will take care of his needs.
