Circumcision and Presentation

(Luke 2:21-24)

Circumcision was done on the 8th day. Refer to the Law. (Gen 17:12, Leviticus 12:3). There was a time purification. (Leviticus 12: 2,4,6). The naming ceremony was on the day of circumcision. On the 40th day, one would be presented in the Jerusalem temple. (Exodus 22:29, 34:19, Numbers 3:13, 8:17; Numbers 18:15)

What to offer at the time of presentation: Leviticus (12:6-8). (It could be a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove or if she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering.)
