“You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” Jn: 8:32

The Truth will make you free.. How?

The truth which Christ teaches tends to make men free. Jesus inaugurated His public ministry by reading the following passage:

Isa 61:1 “The spirit of sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed”

Christ came to free us from the bondage of sin and guilt feeling. The very awareness of God’s forgiveness makes us free from sin and remorse. Sanctification makes us free from the bondage of corruption. Gospel truth frees us from the Yoke of the ceremonial law. It makes us free from our spiritual enemies, free in the service of God, free to the privileges of sons.

The knowing, entertaining, and believing, of Bible truth does actually make us free-
Free from prejudices, mistakes, and false notions which enslaves and entangles the soul. Free from the dominion of lust and passion in to the obedience of the Creator.

The truth will make you free...

Bible teaches us to forget and forgive. This is the most wonderful healing for inner wounds. When we keep relieving the painful memories of the past, we negate God’s desire to bring healing. If you want to be free, if you want to overcome self pity, forget and forgive your debtors. Keep your mind focused on the good things God has done in your life. Delete the accounts of wrongs.

The truth will make you free...

Thank you Father, that my past is forgiven, and I can live today fresh and clean because of what you have done for me. Help me to focus on the great future that You have for me.
