Easter
Message
by HE Mathews Mor Theodosius, Kollam Diocese
I would like to share with you some thoughts during this Heavenly fellowship after the resurrection of Christ through the New Sunday. In his sermon to the
people, John the Baptist exhorted all to confess their sins, as the Kingdom of God is approaching near. Our Lord also in his sermons preached about
the Kingdom of God. The time after the resurrection of Christ, when the Christian church starts is termed as the Kingdom of God. The Church is
called the Kingdom of God. The New Sunday, being the first Sunday in the Kingdom of God, is very significant. This is the new period when the old is wiped off. In this new period the Holy Spirit bestows on all
those who dwell in the Kingdom of God various types of blessings – Rebirth, Remission of sins, acceptance as sons of God,
Holy Spirit and fellowship with God.
When God created Adam, he decorated Adam with the Holy Spirit. When Adam sinned, the Holy Spirit was taken away from him.
At the time of the Great Flood, God said that the Holy Spirit will not dwell in man anymore. Later in the Christian Church after the glorification of
the Son, the Holy Spirit was again given to man. Those who were baptized by John the Baptist were baptized again and anointed with
the Holy Mooron.
Through the Holy Communion, God also gave the members of the Holy Church, fellowship with Christ and the right to the Heavenly Kingdom.
The people who existed before the Kingdom of God were called those who were 'born of Women' and those born in the Kingdom of God were called
'born of God'. The one who lives in the Kingdom of God is greater than the saints of the old time. That is the reason
why the Lord said about John the Baptist, "I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John;
yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."
The blessings that were given to man should be treasured and we should take care not to lose them at any cost but to maintain them by Good deeds.
As man remains in Christ and obeys the commandments, the Messiah will all the more bless him. We shall take refuge in the hope of the new life with God.
May God bless you all, your homes and your activities and may He bless you with a sixty and a hundred
fold. Your servant in Christ,
Theodosius Mathews Metropolitan
